this is me

Hi there! My name is Sarah Arreola and welcome to my portfolio. Born and raised in the Bay Area, I was fortunate enough to explore Silicon Valley’s dynamic community for many years before deciding to further my education in Southern California.

There I completed my bachelor’s degrees in English as well as Media and Visual Culture Studies at the University of Redlands, followed by my master’s degree in Public Relations & Advertising from the University of Southern California this past May (fight on!).

Currently, I work as an associate communications designer at digital advertising agency, Initiative. Moving forward, I’m excited to expand my understanding of the communications industry and discover opportunities to diversify my growing skillset.

I’m most passionate about uncovering compelling media strategies and building meaningful B2C connections - with particular interest in lifestyle and entertainment, diversity and inclusion, and the dynamic influence of social media on consumer behavior.

  • As a past writing tutor and English major, I’ve dedicated many hours learning how to effectively communicate with prospective audiences. Whether it be brainstorming campaign messaging, drafting engaging captions for socials, or framing complex narratives into digestible segments, my experience has helped expand my understanding of different writing styles.

  • From media planning to virtual and in-person events, I’ve successfully led and helped guide a series of projects to execution, while simultaneously ensuring a positive and efficient environment is accessible to everyone involved.
